Writing Rubric

Far too often writing is overlooked in the science classroom. I include this writing project with the rockets lab because the students enjoy the lab so much they actually put the effort in when doing the write-up. More than ever, it is clear that tomorrow's scientists need to have a firm grasp of the use of language. It is important not only for proper presentation of findings, but (more often) for, communicating with colleagues, relating ideas, directing subordinates, reporting to superiors, and competing in the highly efficient world economy of the 21st century. It is clear that those with the greatest command of language are the ones who achieve the highest level of success in any profession.
